Trampoline, Gymnastics, High Jump, Dancing, Surfing, Diving, Ski Jumping, Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Jumping and tumbling places huge amounts of stress on the body due to large amounts of ground reaction forces that are created upon landing. Every time an athlete lands, forces are transmitted through the body like a shock wave. It begins with the feet and forcefully works its way up through the entire body. These forces will especially affect the feet, knees, hips and low back. If one part of the body is not structurally correct or functioning properly, other parts that are not designed to absorb this type of shock will be put into a position where they must. When this occurs, muscles work to help the weak link. This process triggers a domino effect throughout the entire body and will result in lost training/competition time due to injury, if not treated. The Rotex is especially useful in sports of this nature. The simple exercises an athlete may perform will help achieve a better structural position to resist injury and enhance performance. The Rotex will also greatly enhance recovery by helping restore the body to neutral after each training session/competition so all involved tissue can heal in a position free of compensation. We have developed the following exercises on The Rotex which strengthen muscles used predominantly in these sports. Because many of these sport related actions involve the foot as a shock absorber, we have developed the Lower Leg and Posterior Tibialis Exercises. They will effectively strengthen all muscle fibers surrounding the foot and ankle. The Power Move is another exercise to use pre competition. It is designed to engage the muscles of the posterior chain - specifically the glutes and hamstrings, with added benefit to the abs and core. The exercises on The Rotex provide time effective and lasting training/event warm - up and recovery. The athlete gets the feeling of a complete stretch and properly engaged muscles in a few minutes - which usually takes several more minutes of stretching, plus additional time warming - up to achieve the same feeling. Exercises on The Rotex brings the athlete to biomechanically efficient position pre training and returns the athlete to a neutral posture post training - thereby enhancing recovery.
